We were proud sponsors of the digital radio personality award at yesterday’s TRIC Awards 2013, which was won by BBC Radio 2 breakfast host Chris Evans.

The event, which was held at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, was attended by delegates from the radio and television industry along with some famous faces.

Winners on the night included Peter Andre, Carol Kirkwood, Clare Balding, Shane Richie, Ant and Dec, Countryfile, Celebrity Juice, Silent Witness, Mrs Brown’s Boys, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, This Morning, Eamon Holmes, Lisa Snowdon and Dave Berry (Capital Breakfast) and Sian Williams.

We took some journalists to the event as well as our friends from Digital Radio UK, music and broadcasting industry and retailers. It has been a busy week for Pure, as we ‘ve been showcasing our audio tech and previewing new products at CES in Las Vegas.

So far, our new Jongo additions that we have been previewing have been extremely well received from press and attracted a lot of interest. Stuff liked the T640B so much that they have awarded it with their “Hot Stuff Award” ! With 3000 exhibitors spread over 1.85 million net square feet of prime Las Vegas real estate, Stuff have been working their way through to find the finest gadgets and tech from CES 2013. Among some of the hottest noise makers of the show, the Jongo T640B is listed with nine other innovations.

Stuff states: ”Pure takes the fight straight to Sonos’ door with its brightly coloured 100W speaker – whose built in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi serve up digital music shenanigans with minimal hassle. Pure Twilight, the world’s first dawn simulator with digital radio, has been awarded with a bronze and silver prize in the Lovedbyparents Awards 2012.

Twilight was awarded silver for Best Sleep Aid and bronze for Best Nursery Innovation.

Lovedbyparents received hundreds of entries and over 44,000 people voted for their favorite products and brands. In our categories we were up against top nursery products such as the ‘Gro range’ and ’Ewan the dream sheep’, so we are really excited to be winners, especially as the votes were made by consumers.

Hossein Yassaie, CEO of Imagination Technologies and parent company PURE received the WorldDMB 2011 Per Erik Selemark Award for services to DAB at the 17th WorldDMB General Assembly in Zurich, Switzerland.

As a pioneer of digital radio, Hossein Yassaie was the driving force in developing a brand new, low cost DAB chipset, thus enabling sub-£100 digital radios and initiating the international mass consumer digital radio market. In his acceptance speech, Hossein stated that the mobile phone sector remained the challenge for digital radio, but that all technical issues were solvable. What is now required is strong communication to the mobile industry of confidence in the global future of digital broadcast, and certainty of FM switchover planning.

PURE has once again triumphed at the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Awards, winning the prestigious “Radio Product of the Year” for the seventh time in nine years!

AVANTI Flow won the award for the second time in a row as well as winning ‘Best Internet Radio’, with ONE Elite grabbing ‘Best Desktop DAB up to £100’. These awards add to the success PURE has enjoyed in 2010, having picked up an array of awards this year, including Best Innovation for Sensia at the Hi-Fi Choice 2010 Awards and a Which? Best Buy for the EVOKE-3.

The What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Awards Issue states “Pure’s admirable AVANTI Flow takes both Best Internet Radio and overall Product of the Year Awards for the second year running… The Avanti Flow creates a generous soundstage, keeps a close eye on detail, and generates considerable levels of scale and attack. It’s deft and dynamic, with prodigious midrange expression. It puts even some similarly priced micro-systems to shame.”

Last Friday the PURE PR team attended the Hi-Fi Choice awards in central London. After chatting with the great and good from the Hi-Fi world, we took our seats and eagerly awaited the start of the presentation. Up first was the ‘Best Radio Tuner’ award, with Sensia winning the category with Hi-Fi Choice commenting, “More than just a simple radio, the Sensia won over the judges, thanks in part to its excellent PURE DAB reception.”

Sensia was also nominated for ‘Best Innovation’ and once again won the category. Hi-Fi Choice noted, “The Sensia takes what we expect a radio to do and turns it on its head. It was the first product to bring touch-screen interactivity to this most cherished medium.”

We are delighted to report that three of PURE’s radios have been nominated in the T3 Gadget Awards 2010.

Sensia has been nominated for music gadget of the year with T3 stating, ”it’s creating a whole new gadget category that fits somewhere between clock radio and computer and it’s much more fun than either.”

ONE Mini is up for home gadget of the year as a result of the recent evaluation concluding the products is suitable for use in the bathroom when powered by ChargePAK, “It’s a mini slice of wonder, this tiny DAB radio packs a real punch” say T3.

EVOKE Mio has also received a nomination for green gadget of the year.
