What is Pure Jongo?

Pure ‘Jongo’ is the world’s first mainstream multiroom audio product family. The Jongo wireless system allows you to distribute synchronised music and audio to multiple devices from a single source, including the new Pure Connect App for iPad, iPhone and Android, as well as an increasing number of our connected products.

What are the stand out features?

Expand wirelessly: Pure’s Jongo family allows you to purchase a single product and stream audio content within a single room, or expand wirelessly at your leisure across multiple speakers and/or multiple rooms with additional Jongo or Jongo compatible products. Pure Connect is a gateway to a world of audio with millions of songs; thousands of radio stations; hundreds of thousands of on-demand programmes and podcasts; and a range of ambient sounds. In addition to the apps, there is also a new and improved Pure Connect website www.pureconnect.com.

All content is kept synced in the cloud and users can access their content intuitively from all devices wherever and whenever they want including PCs, Macs, iOS and Android devices or any Pure music streaming product that is linked to Pure Connect.

Control for Pure’s new Jongo multiroom audio product family is built into the DNA of the Pure Connect apps. The Jongo wireless system allows users to distribute synchronised music and audio to multiple devices from a single source, including the new Pure Connect App for iPad, iPhone and Android, as well as an increasing number of Pure’s connected products.

The new website and apps have been designed with content at their heart and with very simple, easy to use navigation. Music discovery is made easy with a seamless journey from the moment the user logs in thanks to the new ‘discovery’ section, which includes smart recommendations based on the user’s history. Pure Connect also features content from Audioboo’s new initiative, In Their Own Words, which allows content creators such as musicians, authors, comedians and more to connect more closely with their fans by sharing all aspects of their creative process through the social spoken word.

To celebrate the launch of  Pure ‘Jongo’, the world’s first family of mainstream multiroom audio products, we invited guests from music, consumer tech and lifestyle press as well as representatives from the music industry, broadcasters and retailers to Paramount Bar at Centre Point, London. We were overwhelmed with interest and had almost 200 guests attending!

After a brief presentation and Q&A session with Colin, our director of marketing, guests enjoyed demos of the new multiroom system. Jongo S340B, an affordable portable wireless speaker with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and 360° sound, is the first product to launch from the Jongo multiroom audio family. We were also pleased to introduce to the stage – Folks – a great new band who went down a storm!

The last few weeks have been pretty busy at Pure as we launched our first TV set top box, Avalon 300R Connect, just two weeks ago and we are extremely excited to build on this with our first foray into the world of multiroom audio with the Jongo wireless system.

Pure finds its biggest fan

Owner of the earliest Evoke digital radio is presented with a limited edition patriotic Evoke Mio

After a ten week search to celebrate its tenth birthday, Pure has found the owner of one of the earliest Evoke-1 digital radios ever produced. The winner, Christine Davis, has been presented with a limited edition Evoke Mio Union Jack with a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.

As part of its tenth anniversary celebrations, Pure embarked upon a search for ten of its biggest fans and owners of the very first Evoke-1 digital radios produced when the brand launched in 2002.

Pure fans were invited to submit stories about how they got hold of one of the first Evoke-1 digital radios or photos of their radios in situ plus the serial number on the back of their Evoke-1 to identify whether it was one of the first to be produced.

Chris’ Evoke-1 had in fact been a gift in September 2002 and was purchased from May’s Electricals in Leicester. Chris works from home so a digital radio is a must to keep her company all day while she paints in her workroom. She also has a Pure Tempus which was a gift from her sister in 2005 and is kept in the kitchen.

Chris says: ‘I love listening to BBC Radio 4, 5 Live and 6 Music and I’ve always been very pleased with both of the radios. I have always told friends to get a Pure if they were going digital’

The Pure Evoke-1, which was the first high-volume sub £100 digital radio quickly sold out and had people queuing on London’s Oxford Street to get their hands on one.

Says Colin Crawford, Pure’s marketing director: “When we launched the original Evoke in 2002, we never imagined that we would see crowds queuing down Oxford Street to get their hands on one, but that’s what happened, and the rest, as they say, is history. We are incredibly proud of the Evoke’s success and proud to be flying the flag for British design and technology.”

We have teamed up with Netmums, the UK’s biggest parenting website and Fun Kids the UK’s only radio station exclusively for kids, to launch a story writing competition to keep the kids busy over the summer holidays.

Kids aged ten and under are invited to write a short story, poem or limerick and they could have their work read out on Fun Kids radio station and win a Pure radio to listen to it on!

Ten winners will be chosen including an overall winner and all ten will have their entries read out on Fun Kids during the weekend of the 6th and 7th of October 2012. Emma - “We moved into our new home on the day of the Royal Wedding and a street party with Union Jacks decorating the street. One of the first things we unpacked was our Evoke radio which continues to be our main music supply in the kitchen and will remind us of moving in, Union Jacks and happy times. We would love an Evoke Union Jack radio in the kitchen and would move our current one to our bedroom to motivate us to get up in the morning.”

Peter – “My Pure digital radio brought me into a new enlightened way to listen to radio. The feel if the tune was right with its silent click sensation, the look of real wood reminds me of radios past and the whopping sound made it stand out from the rest. A whopping room filling room sound that no analogue radio could deliver.”

Vicki – “I bought an Evoke for my grandparents as a Christmas present when they moved into their new home when they retired. They loved listening together in the kitchen to Radio 4 and Classic FM. On Sunday 10th June, 2012, we celebrated the launch of our products in the United Arab Emirates by holding an event at the Al Falak Ballroom in the prestigious Burj al Arab hotel, Dubai.

Guests at the event included press, retailers, distributors, broadcasters and members of the United Arab Emirates British Embassy, including HM Consul General – Guy Warrington.

Delegates were greeted with canape’s and drinks before being heading to the ballroom for presentations from Dr Hossein Yassaie – CEO of Imagination Technologies (Pure’s parent company), Peter Blampied - Director of Global Sales for Pure and HM Consul General. Throughout the buffet guests were given demonstrations of the first products being launched in the region in partnership with distributor, Sharaf Electronics. These products include Contour 100i, Sensia 200D Connect, One Flow and Evoke Flow.
