Throughout March it is National Bed Month organised by The Sleep Council, which aims to remind us all of why a sound sleep is good for our health.  We have a variety of bedside radio and alarms clocks to ease you gently out of bed after a good night’s kip!

Avalon 300R Connect  uses our parent company Imagination Technologies’ market leading Power VR graphics to deliver the most engaging and attractive subscription free TV viewing experience available. The user interface on Avalon offers real depth and perspective making the menus and channel guides a joy to interact with.But did you know you can change the animation effects of the page transitions?

Page peel effect

Avalon is the only set top box on the market which allows you to choose from a range of page transitions when changing channels. You can select  effects such as page peel, water ripple, dissolve or random to personalise your set top box.

To select your preferred animation, select “Animation effect” from the “Channels” menu. You can then select the animation effect that is used for screen transitions when you next change channels.
The list of effects include: Page peel – (default) Screen peels from top right hand corner
Swing Open – Screen swings to the right, Fall Away – Screen flips over and falls into the distance, Zoom Dissolve – Screen zooms in then dissolves to black, Circular Wipe – Screen dissolves from centre outwards, Dissolve – Screen dissolves, Vertical Wipe – Screen wipes down from top, Ripple – Screen dissolves in a ripple from centre outwards
Random – one of the above effects randomly used

Our new Set-top box has a wealth of features to offer from our innovative use of Picture in Picture technology, to the dual tuners which allow you to record two channels simultaneously.

But did you know Avalon is the only set top box to come with four HDMI inputs?!

The four inputs allow you to simplify your A/V wiring and plug in other devices. These devices can be easily accessed via the main menu and you can personalise them by renaming each device to suit. If you like to catch up on missed Tv programmes , Avalon 300R Connect has leading edge HTML 5 based versions of BBC iPlayer and YouTube, perfect for fast and easy viewing. But did you know can also pair your phone or tablet with Avalon when using YouTube?!

 All you have to do is click on search then follow the  instructions on the screen to pair your device. You can then view YouTube clips at your leisure by using your paired device as a control.When searching YouTube, the predictive options allow you to find easily find what you’re looking for while the real-time response encourages you to explore.

One Classic Series 2 (SRP £64.99) is a portable digital and FM radio with a host of features. From a handy kitchen timer to an aux input for your iPod/MP3 player, there is something for everyone. Its sleek design is available in a choice of two colours (black and white) and you can insert a Charge PAK for portable listening where ever you go. But did you know it also features a Listen Later function?!

Listen Later enables you to save your favourite digital radio programme and play it back later. Perfect for people who love their radio shows such as the Archers and Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4 as well as your favourite radio plays. The radio programme is stored in memory while the radio is switched on or in standby, until it is eventually overwritten by another. The memory will hold up to about 45 minutes* worth of a typical broadcast and will stop once the memory is full.
